After Riva won the Eurovision Song Contest 1989 in Switzerland with the song called Rock Me , Eurovision Song Contest 1990 took place in Zagreb, Yugoslavia . This was the first time Yugoslavia hosted the competition. Total of 22 countries participated. The winner of the competition was Toto Cutugno from Italy with the song called Insieme: 1992. The song gained total of 149 points. This was the second Eurovision Song Contest victory to Italy.
