Eurovision Song Contest Italy 2022

When Måneskin won the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Netherlands with the song called Zitti E Buoni, Eurovision Song Contest 2022 took place in Turin, Italy. This was the third time Italy hosted the competition. After Russia was excluded due to its invasion of Ukraine, a total of 40 countries participated. The first Semi-Final was held on May 10th and the second Semi-Final was held on May 12th. The winner was selected at the Grand Final on May 14th. The winner of the competition was the Kalush Orchestra from Ukraine with a song called Stefania. The song gained a total of 519 points and had a huge support from the televoters with gaining 439 points out of maximum 468 (93,8%) and receiving full 12 points from 28 countries in the televoting. This was the third Eurovision Song Contest victory for Ukraine.

During the second Semi-Final, six national juries, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania and San Marino were found to have had irregular voting patterns. As a result, these six countries were given substitute aggregated jury results for the second semi-final and the final based on countries with similar voting patterns, as determined by the pots that the countries were put into for the semi-final allocation draw in January. The Flemish broadcaster VRT later accused that the juries of the countries involved had made agreements to vote for each other.
