After Marie N won the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 in Estonia with the song called I Wanna , Eurovision Song Contest 2003 took place in Riga, Latvia . This was the first time Latvia hosted the competition. Total of 26 countries participated. The winner of the competition was Sertab Erener from Türkiye with the song called Everyway That I Can. The song gained total of 167 points. This was the first Eurovision Song Contest victory to Türkiye.
