After Carola won the Eurovision Song Contest 1991 in Italy with the song called Fångad Av En Stormvind , Eurovision Song Contest 1992 took place in Malmö, Sweden . This was the third time Sweden hosted the competition. Total of 23 countries participated. The winner of the competition was Linda Martin from Ireland with the song called Why Me. The song gained total of 155 points. This was the fourth Eurovision Song Contest victory to Ireland.
