After Lys Assia won the Eurovision Song Contest 1956 in Switzerland with the song called Refrain , Eurovision Song Contest 1957 took place in Frankfurt am Main, Germany . This was the first time Germany hosted the competition. Total of 10 countries participated. The winner of the competition was Corry Brokken from The Netherlands with the song called Net Als Toen. The song gained total of 31 points. This was the first Eurovision Song Contest victory to The Netherlands.
