After Séverine won the Eurovision Song Contest 1971 in Ireland with the song called Un Banc, Un Arbre, Une Rue , Eurovision Song Contest 1972 took place in Edinburgh, United Kingdom . This was the fourth time United Kingdom hosted the competition. Total of 18 countries participated. The winner of the competition was Vicky Leandros from Luxembourg with the song called Après Toi. The song gained total of 128 points. This was the third Eurovision Song Contest victory to Luxembourg.
