After Lena won the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 in Norway with the song called Satellite , Eurovision Song Contest 2011 took place in Düsseldorf, Germany . This was the third time Germany hosted the competition. Total of 43 countries participated. The first Semi-Final was held on May 10 and the second Semi-Final was held on May 12. The winner was selected on the Grand Final on May 14. The winner of the competition was Ell/Nikki from Azerbaijan with the song called Running Scared. The song gained total of 221 points. This was the first Eurovision Song Contest victory to Azerbaijan.
