After Johnny Logan won the Eurovision Song Contest 1987 in Belgium with the song called Hold Me Now , Eurovision Song Contest 1988 took place in Dublin, Ireland . This was the third time Ireland hosted the competition. Total of 21 countries participated. The winner of the competition was Céline Dion from Switzerland with the song called Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi. The song gained total of 137 points. This was the second Eurovision Song Contest victory to Switzerland.
