After Grethe and Jørgen Ingmann won the Eurovision Song Contest 1963 in United Kingdom with the song called Dansevise , Eurovision Song Contest 1964 took place in Copenhagen, Denmark . This was the first time Denmark hosted the competition. Total of 16 countries participated. The winner of the competition was Gigliola Cinquetti from Italy with the song called Non Ho L'étà. The song gained total of 49 points. This was the first Eurovision Song Contest victory to Italy.
