After Jacqueline Boyer won the Eurovision Song Contest 1960 in United Kingdom with the song called Tom Pillibi , Eurovision Song Contest 1961 took place in Cannes, France . This was the second time France hosted the competition. Total of 16 countries participated. The winner of the competition was Jean-Claude Pascal from Luxembourg with the song called Nous Les Amoureux. The song gained total of 31 points. This was the first Eurovision Song Contest victory to Luxembourg.
